The small uninhabited island of “La Certosa” lies in the lagoon of Venice. For the 2024 Art Biennale and the German Pavilion, the artists Jan St. Werner, Robert Lippok, Nicole L’Huillier and Michael Akstaller have given the island a sonic makeover. For me, this was one of the highlights of the Biennale this year, certainly also because the surroundings, the journey there and the island location play a role in the perception of the installations. Of course, some planning and effort is required. With my video, I want to give those who are hesitant an impression of the works and encourage them to visit.
