Nomula Manikya Rao On APPSC Group 1 Exam Scam. The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ordered a detailed investigation into alleged irregularities in the APPSC Group-1 examination. The court directed the state government to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by an officer of Additional DGP rank. The SIT has been asked to seek help from the Central Forensic Laboratory to examine key evidence, including the age of the answer sheets, the age of the ink used, and whether barcodes were tampered with. The team must submit its report to the court by March 16. The controversy began when answer papers were reportedly shifted to a private resort near Mangalagiri, against rules. Former APPSC Secretary P.S.R. Anjaneyulu allegedly kept the papers there for 65 days without proper permission or official records. The court strongly criticized the lack of documentation and said even a small wrongdoing can spoil the entire system, hurting thousands of hardworking candidates. There are also serious allegations of digital evaluation fraud. Though authorities claimed computer-based correction, papers were allegedly evaluated manually three times. Candidates suspect marks were manipulated to benefit certain individuals. To ensure a fair probe, the court ordered that selected candidates currently working as RDOs and DSPs be transferred to non-sensitive posts.
