How do you speed read and still remember everything you read? And I wish I knew this earlier because every time I read, I took days and sometimes weeks, and once I was done, well I could barely remember the title. So my job for these videos is to give you 3 tips to do, so you can read a book every day if you want to. ( btw I don’t mean 24 hrs, I mean maybe 1-2 hours max) how to learn to speed read and Understand - Remember Everything Basic Idea: Give you the best ways to speed read, through the 3 main types of books, because not all books are the same. And if you try the same thing for all books, you will forget everything you read in less than a month. 1. Pros and Cons Pro: Getting all the information you need, very fast, that allows you to be ahead of everyone else. Con: If you do this incorrectly, you’ll walk out each book, and then forget what it was about after 3 days 2. Heres how we speed read but there are 2 main types of books A. Story Books/Step by step: Self Help Books, Fiction and non Fiction Their basically books that are about a story, and may have very few action steps, you walk about motivated or excited or crying, but… 10 days later you forget everything. Step By step: 1st thing is: these books usually just have 1-3 main ideas, so your job is to fund them while having an understanding of the book and what it's about. So step one: Analyze, this should 5-15m max ( example with Gary’s Book) Read the front Cover: Read the Back Cover Aka the Blurb/ Aka the summary: Then open the book and read the Table of Contents: Read the About the author section also: Results: once your done dong that you should have a good idea of the book is about. In 15m instead of taking an hour to read the entire instruction and all the fluff. Step two: Nugget HUntng ( nuggets aren’t like chicken nuggets, they are like gold nuggets, so your basically looking through a ton of dirt to find the main ideas) 1st You go through the chapters and read them for 1-5 minutes each not in order from begging to end, whats your doing is scanning information 2nd look for 1-3 chapters that sound interesting to read 3rd best way to cheat on this is just to use the table of content as a guide to what you think is going to peak your interest. Results: This should take 30-45m if your new maybe hour. So by doing this you have looked through all the dirt and found the chapters that contain the gold. ( but not actually read them) Step Three: Take the Gold ( so instead of having to read the entire book to fund out where the gold is, you know where it is now, so just go and read it) -it's like if I told you, you can either dig for 1 year or I’ll tell you exactly where the gold is. 1st: Go to those interest chapter and read them and you might have found 1-5 of them 2nd: you're going to feel weird reading in this format at first but, you’ll get used to it Results: this should take 1-2 hours depending on the book. Overall: with the 1st step Analyze 15m 2nd step nugget hunting 30-45m 3rd take the gold 1-2hrs Tip the more you read the faster you’ll get. But… if you want to remember this information, then you’re going to have to work on Long term vs Short term memory. 1st thing: for Story and Step by step books this works great but for the second type: Hard Facts Books, it won't work – Some books are legit just facts, so the best you can do is remember. – Since they don’t have a lot of dirt anyways. Understanding Memory: Great Book on this is called Unlimited Memory and the power of habit Short term: For example: Whenever you read any book this fast, it's going to into your short term memory Because you don’t have anything to associate it with, no stories, no fluff, no dirt. Well, the answer is, you need to move this memory of this book into the long term memory bank in your brain. Long term Memory but this is broken in 2 types: Then you can go in episodic and semantic, but I'm going to keep it basic Implicit: you don’t try Explicit: you try More on Memory: https://www.brainhq.com/brain-resourc...
