Walking around Ephrata Cloister in Ephrata, Pennsylvania (Lancaster County). This was founded by a German Immigrant, Johann Conrad Beissel in 1732. They had a lot of rules, all of which seemed to be unpleasant. They were celibate. They ate one meal a day and it was vegetarian. They slept very little and got up each night between Midnight and 2 AM to await the Second Coming. They used a block of wood as a pillow. Not too surprised that the group lasted less than 100 years and the buildings were taken over by a more moderate group.I used some free music from Pond 5 for background.
