AWS - EBS Encryption | How to Encrypt an EBS Volume

Hello Guys, Welcome back! On AWS, its Elastic Block Store (EBS) service provides persistent block-level storage volumes for Amazon EC2 instances. Amazon EBS encryption is supported by all volume types, you don’t have to worry about managing keys to perform encryption. It’s all managed and implemented by EBS. When you create an encrypted EBS volume and attach it to a supported instance type, the following types of data are encrypted: Data at rest inside the volume All data moving between the volume and the instance All snapshots created from the volume All volumes created from those snapshots Amazon EBS automatically creates a unique AWS managed key in each Region where you store AWS resources. By default, Amazon EBS uses this KMS key for encryption and This KMS key has the alias alias/aws/ebs. Alternatively, you can also specify a symmetric customer managed encryption key that you created as the default KMS key for EBS encryption. By using your own KMS key can gives you the more flexibility, and ability to create, rotate, and disable the KMS keys. Please follow the steps as shown in this video to encrypt the EBS volume.
