2025 Illinois State IDPA Championship - 6th Place Carry Optics

This was my 4th major match in as many weeks and unfortunately, it broke my streak of coming home with plaque. I can't complain, I was given a reshoot on Stage 5 and that saved my match from being a total train wreck so I was lucky enough to finish where I did. I also had a couple rounds fail chrono so I was one more fail away from a DQ at equipment check. I'm not sure if I just got a bad batch of Freedom Munitions ProMatch, but I'm now searching for a new option. ‪@DotGun_KY‬ suggested Super Vel so let me know in the comments if you've also used their stuff and if you'd recommend it. Congrats to all the shoots, lots of great shooters at this Tier 4 match so the competition was tough, to say the least. I was able to meet Austin Proulx after the match and what a class act. I'm looking forward to taking his class after the Hoosier Daddy match at the end of July. My dad taught me years ago : "If you can't beat em, join em." It was hot, we started early, lots of challenging stages, tough competition, but overall, it was a great match. The staff and SOs were great, the stages were challenging, the shooters were good, I had great squad mates, I was able to bring my dad along to this, just overall, great day. Production note: I was trying a new hat clip for the Insta360 Go3s and you'll see in footage that I bumped it into the top of a port and it tilted it back. I had to use the X5 360 footage for the rest of that stage. I'll work on that for the next match.
