Festival Orgel Plus Organ PLUS Santur http://www.orgelplus.de/i080125-2.html Mirsaaed Hosseiny Panah, born in Iran, and Nigar Gahramanova born in Azerbaijan, both live in Norway and play together with the Middle Eastern string instrument Santoor and on the organ of the church of St. John in Bottrop-Boy. Maqām/Mogham/Mugham (plural: maqāmāt) is traditional form of music is not written down in notes, but is played by a generation passed on to the next. The philosophical and meditative content of the Mugham is ideally suited for a performance in church. Feelings and thoughts such as joy, pain, gratitude, love, suffering, liberation or peace find a common language in the performance of the santoor and organ. Mugham was added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2003. This ensures that this unique art will continue to inspire musicians and listeners all over the world in the future.
