1964 Fedders 14,000 BTU “Weather Wheel” Vintage Room Air Conditioner, Tecumseh AJ Compressor.

This is a Fedders Air Conditioner that is installed in my garage. It is an amazing performing unit using much less electricity than its nameplate and probably puts out more than 14,000 BRU’s. This thing is an absolute beast! It can keep the Garage cold by itself on the hottest summer days. Its also much quieter in person than on video, but that violent start up is very real, and a love-able and hate-able characteristic of the Tecumseh AJ Compressor! The good news is, it’s only like that for the first start up, it will not sound mean like that on normal cycles when the unit is running.
