Reflection from Bishop Fintan Monahan A message for exam students To students preparing for state exams I pray earnestly for you today, as someone who understands the hopes, anxieties, and determination that mark this important time in your lives. Know that you are not alone. In classrooms, libraries, and quiet corners, your efforts and hard work, your fears and aspirations — they do not go unnoticed and are not wasted. You are surrounded by a community that believes in you, that prays with you, and that walks beside you in spirit and in faith. I want you to know that many are praying you — that God will bless your minds with clarity, your hearts with calm, and your spirits with courage. May the Holy Spirit be your companion — guiding your thoughts, steadying your hand, and reminding you of the knowledge you have gained. Do not measure your worth by marks alone. You are wonderfully made, deeply loved, and called to live with purpose. Exams are a chapter — important, yes — but never the whole story of who you are or who you are becoming. So take heart. Seize the opportunity. Make the most of what preparations you have done. Trust in your efforts, lean on your faith, and step forward with confidence. Amen!
