Hingol River or Hungol River is located in the Makran region, in the Gwadar District of south eastern Balochistan Province, in southwestern Pakistan. It is around 234 km (3.5 hrs) away from Karachi. The river and valley are protected within the Hingol National Park. The Hingol River is 350 miles (560 km) long, the longest in Balochistan. The river flows all year long, unlike most other streams in Balochistan which only flow during rare rains. Among fishes, Mahaseer (Tor putitora), Botchee (Scaphiadon irregularis) are found in Hingol river. More than 7465 waterbirds were recorded at the Hingol River estuary in November 2006. Hingol River is also supporting mammals such as Sindh Ibex, Afghan Urial and Chinkara Gazelle. Marsh Crocodile (Crocodylus palustris) is distributed in the Hingol river particularly in the estuarine area. Sooty Falcons are known to breed in mid-May at the mouth of Hingol River in HNP.
