The accused have now filed a petition before the Bengaluru Sessions Court, seeking permission to appear physically in court instead of attending via video conference. In their latest application, Darshan and his co-accused reportedly requested that they be brought to court daily if the trial is conducted on a day-to-day basis. Legal observers say this move could potentially allow the accused to step out of prison more frequently during proceedings. Currently lodged at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, the accused have cited various reasons for their request. Sources suggest that rising temperatures and discomfort inside the jail premises may also be a factor behind the plea. However, the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) is reportedly preparing to file strong objections. The prosecution has already argued against conducting daily trials and has maintained that there is no necessity for the accused to be physically present for every hearing.
