Écoutez Michel Dubeau jouer la flûte shakuhachi, sa spécialisation, soit une flûte japonaise. Traditionnellement fait de bamboo, le shakuhachi est un instrument conçu sur une échelle pentatonique qui évoque les sons de la nature. En plus du shakuhachi, Michel Dubeau joue du shinobue (flûte traversière japonaise en bambou), du ney arabe, du duduk arménien, du di-dze chinois, de la qéna sud-américaine, du kaval bulgare, de la cornemuse écossaise et nombre d'autres instruments à vent de partout à travers le monde. Il a à son actif trois CDs: Gakki, Gakki « Chants du nouveau monde » et Haïku! Michel Dubeau a obtenu en août 2016 son titre de shihan, décerné par Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos.
