Not from Chicago, but still of interest in that this is a complete edition (recorded on 3/4" Umatic videotape) of Eyewitness News on KYW Channel 3 in Philadelphia, PA, anchored by future NBC News anchor Jessica Savitch (co-anchors Mort Crim and Vince Leonard were on assignment). With reports by Orien Reid, Robin Mackintosh, Matt Quinn and Bob Bradley, sports by Al Meltzer (whose Chicago connection was via his later 1970's stint with WMAQ Channel 5), and Bill Kuster with weather. Includes: Opening, with report of major rain storms which claimed life of 14-year-old John Walsh who was standing near a tree (not a good idea) and struck by lightning, and left other destruction in its wake, following a heatwave with 93° temperatures; this is followed by title sequence, Jessica introducing herself, and preview of other top stories.
