Commentary spoken by Anthony Oliver, written by Jack Howells Scenes of Prince Edward being received and crowned in Caernarvon "some forty years earlier" with great pageantry. Caernarvon Castle, Queen Elizabeth and the Duke are greeted on the steps of the castle, they walk within the ruins, decked with flags and banners, past the waiting crowds and into box built high up in the castle. Below the crowds wave and cheer. The royal standard flies from a turret. WS castle , Scenes of Welsh countryside, rivers, coastline and sheep farming in the north. A sheepdog rounds up the sheep and drives them through a gate into a walled field. More scenic shots, a group of men walk past with hunting rifles. Some small logs sail through the trees on a flying fox construction. A tiny train passes below and arrives at a small station "Brynclas" . On the platform waits a lady in traditional costume and an enormous harp (as they do). The driver assists the lady and loads the harp while his assistant oils the train. Travelling shots from the train and the Welsh lady sitting in her carriage. The shaft head of a South Wales coal mine, miners walk past. A hand written sign reads "Eisteddfod choir practice tonight", men enter a school in their best cloths for the practice. A lady in traditional costume and standing on a small table in a field conduct other traditionally clad ladies as they sing. More scenic shots and then Llangollen. People are arriving from around the world in their traditional costume for the "International Eisteddfod". A policeman is waving us on with a sign behind him "Welcome to Wales". Many shots of people in their tradition costumes. An enormous tent with a hillside background and people thronging before it. CU,s of people in their costumes. Indonesian dancing and playing, although some of the musicians are clearly Westerners. Some women turn a handle on a sort of bulky violin while others dance. Some castanets playing flamenco dancers twirl. More scenic shots. Passengers clamber aboard another small train called "Enid", and we follow its slow climb up Mount Snowdon. The scenery becomes more barren as the train climbs higher. A small boat full of passengers motors towards an island off the coast, gulls and other sea birds fly and nest on Cliffside's. A passenger boat arrives on a remote island. The bird watchers are seen climbing the cliffs, a couple take a chick from it,s nest and look at it (A Puffin?). Two men look through binoculars, then crawl along the cliffside. They catch a puffin, tag it, and let it fly away. Coastal vistas, and then a mass of people leaving a golf club. They are there to see Bob Hope, for it is he! playing at the Royal Links at Portcawl. A man in plus fours and a pipe tees off in Ealing comedy style. Bob Hope with his arm around an attractive walk through the crowd, he appears to be the winner. Montage of Northern coastal resorts, valley and coastline and rivers.
