RC Weedless 6M Trial Sail A 1925 6 Meter Mod Classic

This Full Keel RC sailboat measures 39" LOA, 73/8" Beam and 8" Draft. The RC model is based on a 1925 6 Meter design but with more draft and freeboard. The build sequence started with a DIY paper plan and a planked basswood hull with a center line divider. All wood was covered with gelcoat making a 2 part Plug. Next was a FBG layup over the plug to make a left and right 2 part Mold. The model in this video is the first hull laid up in the mold. The rig has no side stays. The mast is a Birch dowel set in a rigid socket and the booms are basswood. The sails are a DF95 "C" rig. With the sails each fixed at 3 points, an aluminum backstay crane tensioned from the stern stiffens the rig fore and aft. It's a simple arrangement for casual RC sailing.
