Notes Despite the title here, this was made after Adventure Island 4 and like that game, it’s in a Metroid style. Or more accurately Zelda 2. While this game has a bit more going on than Adventure Island 4, it is still the case that there is little to find and the majority of side rooms contain nothing, so I don’t waste time going into them. I do collect all of the hearts, magic bottles and equipment, though. For the shovel: You can’t swing it in the air, you can’t swim, you can’t climb and you can’t open chests with it. The constant inventory switching is required. For the casino: It rolls the outcomes when you start each game after placing your bet so using save states only prevents you from taking losses. Playing the slot machine is a consistent gain but it’s extremely slow, the racing game is always a 1 in 4 chance of winning and it’s also slow. The roulette game I think is actually rigged based on how you bet. I ended up using save states with the roulette game and placing max bets on x20, x10 and x8 and just reloading when it fails as it is fastest and least tedious of the three. I found that it was very rare for it to land on 6. It took me around an hour real time with the frame rate uncapped to get over the 105,900 coins necessary to buy everything and thus it’s all done off-screen. I’d recommend aiming for just the life bottle and boomerang as the sword, shield and armor are of little practical use. For the final boss, using the boomerang on the final form absolutely destroys the frame rate and the SNES takes a few moments to recover. Obviously, there’s a lot of input lag as a result. Lastly, I don’t think the random encounters improve this game at all. You get nothing for dealing with them, it's just a waste of time. 00:00 Intro 05:49 Poka-Poka Island 10:01 Poka-Poka Island Boss 11:32 World Map Section 1 18:12 Hiya-Hiya Island 25:58 Hiya-Hiya Island Boss 27:50 World Map Section 2 30:32 Boa-Boa Island 35:36 Poka-Poka Island Revisit 38:00 Boa-Boa Island Cont. 41:07 Boa-Boa Island Boss 44:07 World Map Section 3 49:37 Puka-Puka Island 58:40 Puka-Puka Island Boss 1:02:39 World Map Section 4 1:04:17 Sala-Sala Island 1:12:54 Sala-Sala Island Boss 1:16:08 Where to? 1:19:34 Poka-Poka Island Revisit 1:23:50 Hiya-Hiya Island Revisit 1:29:05 Boa-Boa Island Revisit 1:34:16 Puka-Puka Island Revisit 1:40:04 Horrible Off-Screen Casino Grind (See notes, I don't recommend this) 1:42:48 Sala-Sala Island Revisit 1:49:09 Fuwa-Fuwa Island 1 1:55:50 Fuwa-Fuwa Island Boss 2:01:56 Fuwa-Fuwa Island 2 2:08:28 Fuwa-Fuwa Island Final Boss 2:12:00 Ending/Credits
