Have you ever been curious about how Business Analysts operate across different industries? We're excited to launch "A Day in the Life of a BA". Each month, we invite passionate BA professionals to share real-world experiences, daily routines, challenges, and insights into their industry. 👉 For November, we’re excited to welcome Thea Soehren, a seasoned BA who will give us a practical look into the world of business analysis in Nuclear Power. Thea Soehren, CBAP, is a seasoned Business Analyst with over 20 years of experience, including 15 years in Information Technology. Her career spans multiple industries, including nuclear energy, insurance, medical diagnostics, tax preparation, and data governance, where she has led transformative initiatives such as regulatory application replacements, process improvements, security enhancements, and master data alignment. Currently at Cincinnati Insurance Companies, Thea provides strategic business analysis leadership and is actively involved in leveraging AI to enhance organisational effectiveness. A proud contributor to the IIBA’s Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK®) v3.0, she has been a dedicated member of the International Institute of Business Analysis for over a decade, mentoring BAs around the world. As President and Vice President of Training and Professional Development for the IIBA Tampa Bay Chapter, Thea has successfully led over 125 study groups. These sessions have had a measurable impact—more than two dozen participants credit them as pivotal in earning their IIBA certifications. She continues to present at professional events, mentor analysts across five continents, and champion the growth of the BA profession. Thea was honoured as a finalist for IIBA’s Volunteer of the Year for the Southeast USA region in 2023 and was subsequently nominated again in 2024 and 2025.
