MOM AND DAUGHTER REACT TO IT CHAPTER TWO! Tessa (Mama’s Geeky) and her daughter Lorie face their fears in IT Chapter Two (2019) — the terrifying conclusion to Stephen King’s iconic horror story. After surviving Pennywise once as kids, the Losers’ Club returns to Derry 27 years later to finally put an end to the nightmare. For me, Pennywise will always be the reason I’m terrified of clowns, and even though I’ve seen this once before, I was still shaking. For Lorie, it was her first time watching IT Chapter 2, and her reactions to the scares — and the heartfelt moments — are priceless. Directed by Andy Muschietti (Mama), the film stars James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) as Bill, Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game) as Beverly, Bill Hader (Barry) as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa (Shadowhunters) as Mike, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Ben, James Ransone (Sinister 2) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (Power) as Stan. Bill Skarsgård (Barbarian) returns as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, delivering another nightmare-inducing performance that had us both on edge. We screamed at the mirror maze sequence, were creeped out by the old woman scene with Beverly, and were floored by the terrifying visuals of Pennywise’s true form. At the same time, we loved how the story explored friendship, trauma, and the strength of the Losers’ Club as adults. Lorie especially loved Ben’s character arc, while I couldn’t even look at Pennywise’s teeth and horrifying eyes without wanting to hide. From heartbreaking sacrifices to horrifying scares, IT Chapter Two is a shocking and emotional finale that left us exhausted, spooked, and in awe of how much the Losers’ Club means to each other.
