Parkfield Primary School Senior Sports Day - Overview of Australind Parkfield Primary School. Parkfield Primary located in Australind, Western Australia, is an independent public school focusing on a high quality education for every child; whatever their ability, wherever they live, whatever their background. Parkfield Primary School’s vision is to provide a safe, inspiring and creative learning environment. We will create opportunities for students to engage in learning programs, strive for excellence and become active citizens who make healthy and responsible decisions. The 2016 Senior sports day was a great success with participants from grades 4 to 6. The Schools 4 house factions- Marshall- Red; Henton- Yellow; Naturalist- Blue; Geograph- Green; compete on the oval, watched by parents and friends. Events range from distance running, flag races and the always challenging, tunnel ball race. The Physical Education Program at Parkfield aims to promote the benefits of regular physical activity while providing students with the opportunity to further their physical and interpersonal skills. We believe in the importance of Fundamental Movement Skills and Game Strategies, while incorporating the Bluearth Program, to maximise the health and wellbeing of our students. So they will develop a positive attitude/sufficient skill level to enable lifelong achievement in physical activity. Students at Parkfield participate in a one hour PE lesson and a one-hour sports session per week. To further encourage students to get physically active we provide supervised activities on the oval before school and students are invited to borrow sports equipment from the sports shed at recess and lunch. Sports Development Officers are also organised to visit our school to run sports clinics and provide more opportunity to develop students’ skills knowledge and to be physically active. Parkfield has school-based carnivals that are held throughout the year. They are, the House Swimming Carnival, House Cross Country and House Junior and Senior Athletics Carnivals. At an Interschool level, Parkfield is part of the Bunbury Public Schools Sports Association (Tuart Division). We successfully compete in Cross Country, a Winter Carnival and Athletics.
