Regina Turner, who was the Miss Connecticut of 2011, was discovered to have been working as a call girl by her husband for years, both during and before their marriage. Dr. Han Jo Kim, a wealthy spine surgeon and Turner's spouse, discovered his wife's secret in 2020 from a message left open on a computer in the couple's home. Finding that her sex work had been going on from even before the two's wedding in 2015, Kim filed for divorce in December 2020. It was found out that Turner had earned over 675,000 dollars from her time as an escort, with Turner having told her husband that her money came from her grandmother's inheritance. Furthermore, she had also lied about her educational background, stating that she was a graduate from the University of Connecticut, when in reality, she was a high school dropout. With a long 264-page document in hand, Kim went to the Manhattan Supreme Court to end his marriage. In April 2021, the two separated.
