I decided it was time to harvest the compost from the worm tower without disturbing the worms too much. Why? Because I want to see how much compost my worm farm can generate from autumn to the end of winter—no refreshes, no peeking. Just good old-fashioned soil magic. using sunlight to encourage the worms to migrate downward so I can collect as much compost as possible while keeping the worm colony intact. Then, I reset the tower and make a batch of nourishing worm tea for the garden. This is perfect for beginner gardeners who want to get more out of their compost system—especially if you're short on space like we are on our backyard homestead.
