Coming from an extraordinary dance season, the "Top 10" transitioned to the "Divine 9 to form the 2010-2011 Strikettes Dance Team: • Bria Abrams • Teresa Daniels • Alexandria Drakeford (Captain) • Chelsey Gardner (Co-Captain) • Demesha Hale • Tiffani Hill (Co-Captain) • Bridgette Moore • Amber Sanders • Breanna Walker The John L. LeFlore Lovely Lady Strikettes Dance Team is the Mighty Marching Rattler Band's multi-faceted dance line that began as the Toulminville High Stepping Majorettes in 1968. Having discontinued the use of batons in 1990, these ladies have defined and set the standard for prep dance teams in the state of Alabama and Mobile County. DΦG, as they are known in the band, are noted for their expeditious, highly-technical, dance routines performed to such sounds as Cameo's "Shake Your Pants", Jennifer Lopez' "I'm Real", Michael Jackson's "Workin' Day and Night", Rick James' "Give It To Me Baby" and many more. The Strikettes receive disciplined, rigorous, strict, instruction and guidance during training as many are members of LeFlore's Moving Images Dance Company or are enrolled in dance at John L. LeFlore Magnet High School of Advanced Communication & Fine Arts. Many Strikettes' dancing careers are furthered as they graduate to become featured on prestigious, collegiate, dance programs which have included, but are not limited to: • Alabama A&M University Divas • Alabama State University Stingettes • Grambling State University Orchesis Dance Company • Jackson State University Prancing J-Settes • Miles College Golden Stars • Mississippi Valley State University Satin Dolls • Morehouse College Mahogany in Motion • Southern University Dancing Dolls • Tuskegee University Piperettes • University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazerettes The Mobile County Public School System acknowledged the Strikettes as one of the finest dance teams in the state of Alabama for placing 1st in the 2007, 2008, and 2009 adjudicated, invitation-only, battle of the bands in Montgomery, AL. The competitions included magnificent dance programs, but the Strikettes swept them all and dethroned the 2007 champs with authority.
