Len Fillis was a guitarist and prolific recording artist. Here he's on Hawaiian guitar in a double-sided 12" disc of standards. As so much of his output, it is well played but rather pedestrian fare, but of course that reflected popular taste of the time (although some of his discs are really hot, he could do the whole lot). Although it would appear that this disc didn't sell well. It was issued right at the lowest point in record sales, and nothing sold well at the time. I share it because this seems to be another addition to John Wright's discography at r2ok.co.uk/fillis.htm. That lists 792 recordings (as of its most recent update in early 2017). John notes it contained only 600 recordings when first published. I have no information about the musicians. The recording date was 19 Oct 1934. Matrices CAX 7310-1 and CAX 7311-1, and (unsurprisingly) both are from the first stamper. Transferred by me from an original 78 record in my collection
