The introduction to this cultural Rigsar dance is played on the Yangchen (dulcimer) Dramnyen (lute) and piano. People in colourful dresses are the great performers from the Royal Academy of performing arts. It shows a great respect to the country as the performers are wearing the badge of our Present 5th King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck right on the chest. Rigsar dance is a different form of dance in Bhutan. it is completely different from Zhungdra, Boedra, Zhey and zhem. The modern rigsar genre has faster rhythm and makes you feel like dancing. Rigsar music can be heard in on public streets, in taxis, and on buses, and widely used during school concerts. The instrumental Artists are Kheng Wangchuck, Khandu, Pema Wangdi and Tashi Wangdi followed by the lead vocalist Pema Lhamo and Pema Samdrup. The Artist Kheng Wangchuck is the multitalented man. Apart from playing an instrument, he sings good and is a great comedian. you would find him in several Bhutanese movies doing comic roles.
