This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Nobody likes getting sick or going to the doctor, then don't. Here are some practical and real steps to not only avoid getting sick but to lead a more vibrant and energetic life. I was an RN for 17 years working in Hospice and Oncology. I had the opportunity to witness, first hand, the impact (or destruction) that nutrition can have on the human body. I realized that my passion was with teaching people to create healthy and balanced bodies BEFORE disease was present and that my values were no longer in alignment with Western Medicine. After nursing, I went on to study Holistic Nutrition, Integrative Cancer Treatments and became a practitioner of energy medicine modalities, including Polarity/Craniosacral Therapies. I've also been a Yoga Instructor for over 12 years, as well as a life-long, juice alchemist and a Mother to 5 incredible children. All of these things lead to my daughter Taylor and I opening up the first Cold Pressed Juice Company in Arizona a few years ago. I'm very passionate about sharing my knowledge and the benefits of juicing and cleansing with people in my new role as G.M. of Juby True (sister company of True Food Kitchen: Fox Restaurant Concepts and Dr. Andrew Weil owned) About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
