Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes - Ujimasa Hojo | Story Mode

Second-last character of the game for me to play through. Ujimasa’s story is a complete joke where he reminisces on his various past deeds, poorly, while chatting with Keiji. The narrator repeated six times throughout the narration that his memory weakens with age and there are therefore many vague parts regarding the details of his memories that he cannot remember well, so he just kind of made those parts up with how awesome he was instead in his tales. Here in the stages we play as Ujimasa in his past, who keenly discovers Sasuke sneaking around, bravely invades the Oda and Uesugi and triumphs over them gloriously, forms alliances with the Imagawa and Takeda by soundly impressing them, and lastly fends off Toyotomi’s attack valiantly. His opponents praise him multiple times throughout the story on how powerful he is, and I found it especially funny how panicked Hanbe is when facing Ujimasa lol. His allies Yoshimoto and Shingen also show up to help him in some of the stages, while Kotaro’s just around the whole time but is never mentioned. Despite these levels being about his past, you still play as the senile Ujimasa as normal. His R1+Triangle lets him wear a moxa stick thing on his head that makes his normal attacks quicker, which is not bad with the range of his normal attack string and his decent damage output. His Triangle is the move where he spins his spear around then thrusts the ground to create ice in front of him, which is kind of bad because the spinning part lacks range and he needs to spend 3 seconds catching his breath afterward, regardless of whether he’s wearing the moxa stick. R1+Square is a weak projectile that uses a quicker version of his Triangle skill animation. Love how his fifth-tier weapon is just a bunch of katanas on a stick.
