Description Chameleon is a large-scale, deeply reconfigurable testbed designed to support computer science research and education across diverse areas including systems, networking, AI/ML, edge computing, and emerging applications. With its fully customizable environment, Chameleon allows researchers, educators, and students to work directly with state-of-the-art computing resources typically beyond the reach of individual users. This talk will provide an accessible introduction to Chameleon's capabilities and demonstrate how you can leverage this powerful platform for your work. We will cover how to access Chameleon resources, including the straightforward project application process and available support for postdocs, students, and large classes. Attendees will learn about Chameleon's unique features, including both bare metal reconfigurable and virtualized infrastructure, advanced reservation systems, and edge computing resources. We'll show how to discover and allocate resources using both graphical interfaces on the Chameleon web portal and programmatic tools like Python-chi and Jupyter notebooks. The presentation will also showcase real-world applications from Chameleon's community of over 13,000 users across 1,300+ projects, highlighting work in energy-efficient computing, edge systems, machine learning education, and support for reproducibility in computer science research. Whether you're prototyping new systems, teaching cloud computing concepts, or conducting experimental research, this talk will show you how Chameleon can support your research and education goals and help you develop foundational insights into computing infrastructure—a key skill in the evolving digital landscape.
