An altar gets built, everyone assumes it’s for the wrong god, and Israel immediately prepares for another war. Because obviously. In this episode, I keep reading the Bible even though I’ve already debunked it — mostly out of a morbid fascination with how often genocide is treated like a minor inconvenience. We get PTSD-ridden soldiers, performative divine anger, apologetics doing backflips, and a near-holocaust over what turns out to be… a decorative altar. We talk about: Why God needs humans to suffer so He “feels loved” The altar that almost caused another mass killing Biblical loyalty tests, fear-based control, and abuse dynamics Why Yahweh cares so much about shiny stuff How this chapter accidentally becomes a soap opera Why God’s anger has a weird 24-hour delay And yes — very much clothing This chapter actually has a story. A real one. Suspense, misunderstandings, and a surprisingly happy ending — if you ignore the oceans of blood underneath it all.
