Trondheim til Røros

This drive is the second from my stay in Trondheim and it involves heading a few hours south-east to the small town of Røros, a former mining town in the mountains near the Swedish border. This is a verdant, mainly forested drive following Gauldalen, a deep valley until the road eventually reaches higher ground and the landscape opens up some more. Gauldalen also hosts a railway line which features an intriguing piece of WWII history that you can explore and the mountains around Røros are best known for being home to many mines and lost battles from centuries ago. It's a really interesting area to explore and only giving it an afternoon like I did doesn't do it justice.
