Today on this 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab, we're going to install Part Number C31014. It's the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is what our front mount hitch looks like on our truck once it's installed. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you in selecting some accessories for your front mount hitch, like a snow plow or a winch mount for your front hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole in this case to the outside edge of the bumper, which would be the license plate bracket will be about 7 and a half inches. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 13 and a quarter inches. Now I'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing we need to do is a get a truck ready to install our new receiver hitch. First, this blocker beam right here, we need to temporarily move. There will be 3 bolts on each side that we'll remove. Since this is an old truck it's a good idea to spray the hardware down with some lubricant and penetrate to make it easier to remove. We'll be using a 21 millimeter socket to remove the nuts. Okay, passenger's side is done. You'll see how it comes loose. Do the same thing on the drivers side. Pull this plate with the three bolts from the top out and it comes down. Next we need to remove the nut on this bolt. This bolt is part of suspension components but we don't have to remove the bolt, just the nut. Eventually we're going to stack a part on top of this and then put the nut back in place. We'll need a 24 millimeter socket, an extension and a breaker bar. Now in the head of the bolt towards the interior truck we'll definitely want a 24 millimeter wrench and an extra set of hands to hold the wrench while you break the bolt loose on the other side. This is a really tight bolt to break loose. Let's see how the nut broke loose and we'll go ahead and take it out of the way. Just tighten the 3 bolts that'll come out. This stiffener bracket here. This one right here will go over the bolt through the suspension. Our bolt plate will go back into place. Okay we'll go ahead and re-install the factory nut, we'll put it finger tight for now. We're done with our driver's side, we'll do the same thing on the passenger's side. Now we're ready to put our front hitch into place. Original blocker beam is going to fit on top of this flat surface right here with 2 bolt holes. Now on the ends here, we'll kind of rotate it flat, you can see how the holes will line up. When you take both of these assemblies at the same time and put it through those 3 bolts that are hanging down towards the ground. Definitely need an extra set of hands for this. It seems easiest to do the ones towards the back of the truck first. Then we'll go ahead and work on the ones towards the front. We've got our fasteners loosely tightened on our driver's side. Now we'll go ahead and do the same thing on the passenger's side once again. All right now we've got our hardware loosely installed on both sides, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. Do the bottom ones first and do the sides. What we're going to do is drill a 5/16 hole here, there's one here and on the other side as well. Okay, we'll use a 9/16 socket to run our hardware in. All right at this point we've got our hardware snugged down. Now we can go ahead and torque these bolts as specified by instructions. Then we'll go ahead and tighten down the rest of our hardware and torque them down as well. Now to give yourself a little bit of extra room to work with, we actually loosen up the fastener for this plastic bumper cover. Let's just took it out so we can get some more flexibility to it. Okay, with all our hardware tightened down that'll finish it for our install of the Curt Front Mount Trailer Receiver Hitch. Part Number C31014 on our 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab. .
