Blind passenger using new lift in Rathmore to cross from platform 1 to 2 on 08.08.2025 1/2.

The grand opening of the new footbridge and lift at Rathmore Station, Co. Kerry took place on 07.08.2025. The following bodycam video shows a blind long cane user navigating from the station entrance to the new lift on platform 1 adjacent to the ticket office and passenger waiting area. He uses the lift to cross from platform 1 to platform 2 on the opposite side and then does the reverse journey. The original footbridge is out of service and I understand will remain as there is a preservation order on same. A new realtime passenger information (RTPI) display has been installed on both platforms which has a passenger information and emergency (SOS) buttons on the same pole. A new shelter with seating has been installed under the footbridge on platform 2 offering passengers much needed shelter. Bodycam video recorded on 08.08.2025. Barry O'Donnell.
