WHAT IS A COUPLER? : AUDIO FOR BEGINNERS

In this video, I take a look at what is a coupler, and why it can be such a useful little piece of gear. If you are into home audio, home theater or you have a home recording studio, this thing can be an absolute godsend. There are a hundred ways you can use a coupler. In this video I showcase one of the more common uses for it. As many of you know, sometimes we need to make a connection between two pieces of gear. Maybe you are trying to connect your old VCR or DVD player to your home entertainment system. Maybe you don't have a long enough cable to make the connection. If so, this is when a coupler can really save the day! I have also used these things countless times in my home recording studio. For example, if I want to connect my drum machine to my mixer and the RCA cables are simply not long enough. Or maybe I am trying to connect my synthesizer or other gear to my multitrack recorder. A coupler can come in handy in all of these scenarios. These things are cheap too. You can find them quite easily at many local businesses. I have even spotted them at Dollar Stores from time to time. It always pays to have a few of them on standby. You never know when you will need one. As I mention, this video is mainly intended for beginners. If you have years of experience with home audio or home theater setups, you will find this information very old news and very basic.
