THIS is what an ICE 1 should sound like departing!! Screaming fans and toneladder!! 🎶 - Departure -

Unlike the ICE 2 and the ICE 3M, the ICE 1 is here to stay for at least 5 more years, and that means some of the Baureihe 401 locomotives have been fitted with new traction motors... Some, but not all! And sometimes we're lucky to run into one with the original motors giving an amazing show at departure!! The classic ICE 1 comes to life with a spectacle to behold! The cooling fans start gearing up letting out a mighty scream, and just like the beloved Taurus locomotives the ICE 1s have a very audible toneladder when standing right next to them! In this video we can hear a perfect example of that, although the fans can go a notch higher, as I've recorded years back in the below deck levels of Berlin Hauptbahnhof (link in the top card), and as you can hear as soon as the locomotive has passed me! What violence!!
