Barbican Estate, London Brutalist Architecture | Black & White This episode explores the Barbican Estate in London, one of the most iconic examples of brutalist architecture, through black and white video and photography. I was drawn to the way light, shadow, and texture shape the brutalist forms of the space. Shot entirely in monochrome, the work focuses on how these elements define the raw concrete structures, creating a sense of volume, solidity, and stillness. Although this mixed-use estate supports a wide range of urban activities, it also offers quiet corners for those seeking peace and reflection. Alongside the moving images, I also captured a series of black and white photographs from the same visit.
