Today’s walk takes us along the scenic Charles River Esplanade, one of Boston’s most beautiful riverside parks. We were hoping to catch the first signs of the Cherry Blossoms, but it’s still a bit early. Even so, the crisp air and peaceful views make it a perfect spring day to explore. The Esplanade is a beloved green space running along the Charles River on the Boston side, stretching from the Museum of Science to Boston University. Known for its walking and biking paths, it’s a favorite for locals getting in a jog or just enjoying the view. During the walk, we pass by the Hatch Memorial Shell, the outdoor concert venue famously home to the Boston Pops Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. Though we caught it better in an earlier (but corrupted) video, we do stop to admire the Arthur Fiedler statue, a modern layered bust that honors the longtime conductor of the Boston Pops. Despite the bare trees, there’s still plenty of charm in this walk. Water views, big skies, and a few brave joggers remind us that warmer days are just ahead. 💬 What’s your favorite riverside walk in Boston—or elsewhere?
