We've got a five alarm situation this Christmas! While you were volunteering to wrap toy drive gifts for the firemen to take to the orphanage, a massive locomotive fire has broken out at the train station. Trains all over New York are massively delayed by the disruption, but with the firefighters at the orphanage, it's up to ordinary toy drive volunteers to step up, fight the fire, and save Christmas before it's derailed! HoliBlaze Run is my take on the concept for Dollywood's FireChaser Express with a little extra holiday cheer thrown in. The Gerstlauer dual launch family ride, rocks a forward launch, a lift hill, and a backwards launch out of a train station with a little explosive kick! Like the ride that inspired it, it's designed to be just as fun for adults as it is for kids, combining an appropriate intensity level with a firefighting theme. However, unlike the OG FireChaser, this one does a lot more with the momentum from the mountaintop second launch, turning into a sort of backwards Cheetah Hunt as the ride's third act. I released this ride last year, but with Planet Coaster 2 in its state as such a new game, I always felt I couldn't fully show off my vision for the ride. But with the addition of the snow feature and Festive scenery theme, I went back and did what I could to make it shine like the Christmas star and I think it paid off.
