On August 6, 2025, AGUSM missionary Erica Saviano publicly apologized on her Facebook to the survivors of Chi Alpha’s sexual and spiritual abuse scandal—something Assemblies of God leadership has refused to do. Soon after, she received a two-hour phone call from JR Rodriguez, National Director of Intercultural Ministries, who asked her the pointed question: “Do you want to be part of the Assemblies of God if you don’t trust your leadership?” In this video, we share the full transcript and audio of that call (with Erica’s permission). Listen for yourself and decide: Was this an appropriate response from AG leadership, or another example of protecting the brand over protecting people? 👉 Questions to consider: • Should loyalty to the Assemblies of God come before truth and repentance? • Is saying “I’m sorry people are hurt” the same as “I failed you on my watch, I’m stepping down”? • Should legal liability prevent biblical repentance? • If leadership’s argument is “if you don’t like it, you can leave,” why would anything ever change? • Would you remain in an organization where leadership refuses to release reports or apologize? *Disclaimer: We did edit the audio to remove some personal stories JR talked about that were not relevant to the Chi Alpha and Live | Dead conversation. 📌 Join the discussion on the XA Lions Den Forum: XALionsden.com
