World Cities Day 2022 Feature: Adaptive Reuse in Cities

With nearly 70% of the world’s population living in cities by 2050, the future of humanity is urban. As we continue to make cities more liveable - we need to address urban renewal within their existing heritage cores. To commemorate World Cities Day this year, and in line with this year’s theme of Act Local to Go Global, we look at how some of our neighbours have successfully readapted heritage buildings, and the work done here in Malaysia. Through efforts such as Adaptive Reuse, Think City is committed to strengthening public and private partnerships within our local and regional partners to make Malaysian cities more liveable and sustainable. We hope use this knowledge to develop strategic plans and policies to advance Malaysia and beyond, and create meaningful opportunities to give back to our partners, stakeholders and communities.
