R'lyeh are a Mexican death metal band that have been active since 1991. Prior to that, the members were in a band called Devourment that featured the drummer from Pyphomgertum and lasted from 1989 to 1991. Following a split with their other moniker in 1991, they released the 'Ancestral Terrors' demo in 1992 independently. The original release was only available on cassette, but the tracks can now be found on two different CD releases. The tracks are featured on the 'Back to the Cult' compilation released by Dark Recollections Productions in 2012, and they were reissued in 2019 on a compilation by Muerte Records in 2019. Both compilations contain both the Ancestral Terrors demo and The Black Island EP from 1999, but only the Muerte Records pressing includes a reversible cover that includes the original cover for both releases. That is what the center image in the video is.
