A really nice survivor of a rarely-seen model - the 7A analog to the 6139-600x colorway - Seiko 7A29-703A. The watch was very low-hours but had suffered a low but chronic level of humidity inside that hazed the movement and inside of the crystal. This happened due to an incorrectly-installed bezel gasket from a previous service. It didn't do any functional damage thankfully. There was a missing button c-clip, but did note that the button spring was also missing, so I needed to replace both parts. Whoever the last person was inside the watch did a few funky things, but thankfully the watch didn’t suffer for it. The bezel was installed incorrectly, with the gasket split; it wasn’t water resistant at all, so that was a good thing to catch. This is where all the hazing inside the movement, inside the crystal etc came from - low levels of humidity allowed into the case through the split bezel gasket. After service everything is nice and clean, with the movement giving a steady 0.17-0.18 second per day accuracy, gaining - under .2 of a second per day. It’s a beautiful watch, and probably the nicest example of this model I’ve seen in many years.
