Defender Demister was the invention of one disgruntled Land Rover driver fed up of years spent driving with condensation. The heating on a Land Rover, as described previously, is freeze of fry. A direct pipe from the engine ensures that either scalding hot air or ambient air, which more often than not means freezing cold, is piped up through what is little more than a hairdryer into a vent onto the windscreen.
