Today we're building a vintage-y art deco small theater for Copperdale, on the lot where the library was. I loved all the build stuff with this pack and the Art Deco theme made me immediately think of building an old theater in the town square (although this build would also look great in Del Sol Valley). It's all supposed to be old fashioned and a lil fancy. The other builds I'll be doing in the town center area a more modern, like classic teen hangouts, so I wanted this one to be a more formal space. It's a great spot for dates, or to take older sims too. I'm actually really proud of the concession stand. that popcorn machine is probably my favorite thing I've ever made in the Sims. It's got good vibes idk. Since this lot is next to that little graveyard area, I wanted to give it a lightly spooky vibe, like it's mostly known for its horror movie marathons, so I tied that into the backstory for it too. -The Overly Elaborate Backstory: The idea for this build is that Copperdale had this old cinema built a few decades ago when a famous Del Sol director Humphry Haversham filmed his horror movie in their collapsed mine shaft. The film became a cult classic, complete with countless rumors of a haunted set (as all good horror film have) and when Haversham held the premiere in this very theater, the rumors of haunting carried over too. The tourism it brings has revived the town's economy after aforementioned mine collapse and it still stands today as their biggest attraction. The kids at Copperdale High have a tradition of sneaking out to catch a midnight double feature here the night before Prom. (You'll notice in the final version that some of the wall art was replaced with photos that are supposed to be from the Haversham monster flick. There's a sasquatch character and everything. I cannot tell you how fun this dumb detail was to me lol enjoy) -Notes About the Build: 20x20 lot Lounge lot type No CC Made with TOOL Mod, but not needed to download As always, I'm building for my save file, so it's not pack restricted (sorry) Will be uploaded onto the gallery soon (my id is still VenusFlyCowplant) It's been playtested and it functions, with one exception. I have it set as a lounge, and I put the boba stand in place of a bar, since that fulfilled the "bar" requirement. I thought this meant that the mixologist would automatically tend it, but they don't. I decided not to change it because I enjoyed having my teen sim come in and tend the bar, like that's their part time job, and it was actually kinda fun, but of course you could swap that out for an actual bar, or change the lot type. -Music: Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/hey-pluto/the-pa...
