Lipski (1880-1937) was a polish composer and pianist. In the years 1892–1900 he studied at the Conservatory of the Musical Society in Kraków with Władysław Żeleński. He continued his studies with Hugo Leichtentritt in Berlin and Teodor Leszetycki and Robert Fuchs in Vienna. After returning to Kraków, he worked as an accompanist and piano teacher. From 1910 to 1932 he taught piano at the Kraków Conservatory. In the years 1926–1928 he was also a lecturer at the Silesian School of Music in Katowice. In 1934, in recognition of his artistic achievements, he received a diploma and an honorary badge of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Polish Singing and Musical Associations in Warsaw. He wrote solo songs to lyrics by Young Poland poets , including Lucjan Rydel and Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer. These works are characterized by a variety of moods, rich chromaticism, extensive piano parts, and attention to the relationship between music and text. He also prepared choral arrangements of folk songs and composed piano miniatures.
