Antajuan Scott: Learning and the Power of Intention and Community

Antajuan Scott spoke at the DASER on October 17, 2019. He is the Head of Programming, Science Gallery Detroit, Michigan State University, Detroit. Scott explores how Science Gallery Detroit and Michigan State University are contributing to STEAM education through gallery exhibitions and programming. He will share how institutions (both cultural and academic) can create long-lasting impact in communities where their work is most relevant. Most importantly, the future of education has to be a collaborative effort. Instead of competing, institutions need to find ways to connect and build on the efforts of others. DASER (DC Arts Science Evening Rendezvous) is a monthly discussion forum on art and science projects in the national capital region. It is part of the Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous (LASER) international network of art and science salons. DASER strives to provide the public with a snapshot of the cultural environment of the region and to foster community and discussion around the intersection of disciplines.
