This is the FULL unassisted labor & home water birth of our Baby #7. WARNING: Language TRIGGER: Vomiting If you'd like to see the shorten raw video footage of just the last few minutes:    • Unassisted Home Water Birth * Baby #7 * 9l...   The sweet arrival of Baby #7, Oaklen, finally made his arrival after 42+1 weeks of gestation (my longest ever, whew!) the early morning of June 4, 2019. His other siblings spontaneously arrived at: 37+5 37+3 37+6 41+3 40+0 40+3 & now him at 42+1 He may be the baby but definitely outdid his big siblings in birth size with a whopping 9lbs 12.5oz & 22in even in length! His other siblings were: 7lbs 0oz 7lbs 2oz 7lbs 14oz 8lbs 6oz 7lbs 8oz 8lbs 8oz & now him at 9lbs 12.5oz His birth was almost 3.5 hours in length. Not my longest or shortest. However his was definitely different. I didn’t have my usual prodromal labor leading up to. He didn’t engage until 30 minutes before he was born. I vomited (from the intensity) more than all 6 labors combined. FYI Olive Garden coming back up....not at all bad! 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 He also had to do a LOT of rotating back & forth before he eventually made a corkscrew like motion to fit through. It was the most alien like feeling yet fascinating as my body and him worked together to achieve what needed to be done! I was in AWE! 💚 What is an unassisted or freebirth? It’s a birth that without a medical attendant or medical assistance. So who did attend the birth? My photographer & a friend who ever so graciously offered being our extra set of hands when & however we needed it. 🥰 What is the friend doing in this clip? She’s giving me counter pressure on my lower back (sacrum specifically). I had a chiropractor appointment that morning (that I obviously missed) to continue working on my sacrum but when I went into labor out of no where I was suffering in pain there. Luckily the kids were asleep except Jamison and she was able to offer that counter pressure so I could have Joel in front of me. His presence & touch brought me so much peace. Something magical I tell you! Would I have an unassisted birth again? ABSOLUTELY!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how empowering it was. It was so different than a home birth with a midwife in a great way! No it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay but it was definitely right for our family! Do I suggest everyone give it a go? No. Mamas need to be where SHE feels safest, whatever and however that may be. This is MY choice & we ALL loved it! It was beautiful, magical, freeing, and badass feeling. 💪🏼 I have more footage that I’ll upload when I can but here’s the part everyone fast forwards to anyways. 😆 & eventually when I get my professional video back I’ll share it too! (It usually takes a couple months)
