In a significant development, a state-of-the-art multi- and super-speciality hospital is all set to be established in Guwahati soon. Around Rs 500 crore will be invested in building Medanta – The Medicity near Lokhra on National Highway 27, which is close to the Sarusajai Stadium. The hospital is likely to become operational three years from now. While speaking to Business North East (BNE), Medanta Hospital Chairman Rajiv Parakh confirmed the land acquisition and outlined the construction timeline. “I would want it to be open as soon as possible. Since we have just acquired the land, the construction could take about three years. However, with the speed and intensity with which we operate, we aim to begin services within that time frame,” said Parakh. Moreover, the hospital will offer advanced treatments, including liver, kidney, heart, and lung transplants. Procedures such as aortic aneurysm repairs, lung and leg clot removal, and kidney replacement will also be available.
