I tried the paper towel method for seed starting and… wow. If you’re tired of waiting weeks for sprouts or wasting space on "dud" seeds, you need to try this. It’s faster, easier, and you can literally see the roots growing in days. The "Paper Towel Method" Step-by-Step If you want to replicate these results, here is exactly how to do it: Step 1: The Dampen. Wet a high-quality paper towel with room-temperature water. Wring it out thoroughly—it should be damp like a sponge, not dripping wet. Too much water = mold! Step 2: The Spacing. Lay your seeds on one half of the towel. Give them about an inch of breathing room so the roots don't get tangled later. Step 3: The Fold. Fold the other half of the towel over the seeds and gently press down to ensure the seeds are making good contact with the moisture. Step 4: The Greenhouse. Slide the towel into a plastic zip-top bag. Pro Tip: Blow a little air into the bag before sealing it to create a "CO2 bubble" and keep the plastic from resting too heavily on the seeds. Step 5: The Heat. Place the bag in a warm, dark spot (on top of the fridge is a classic go-to). Step 6: The Transplant. Once the "radicle" (the little white tail) is about 1–2 cm long, it’s ready! Carefully move it to soil using tweezers, being very gentle with the root. #TerraByTara #backyardgardening #vegetablegarden #organicgardening #seedstarting #growyourownfood #gardenwithme #beginnergardener
