34028 ‘EDDYSTONE’ steams to the Bath Christmas Market + LSL 47593 + 47805 on the Statesman & MORE! 🎄

After a full few days exploring the railway heritage in and around York, today it was time to head back to the South West, and with a couple of railtours heading to the Bath Christmas Markets, it provided the perfect opportunity to break the journey up. We begin leaving York early on Saturday morning, before arriving at Bath Spa, ahead of the first of today’s railtours, the Railway Touring Companies Bath and Bristol Christmas Market headed by Southern Westcountry 34028 ‘Eddystone’. The Southern Pacific is seen steaming into the station before heading onwards to Bristol, and just avoiding being bowled by a GWR unit on departure with WCRC 47812 bringing up the rear. Not long after, Locomotive Services recently refurbished Statesman set arrived top and tailed by Intercity Exec liveried 47593 ‘Galloway Princess’ and 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013’ and we see the train holding for passengers to disembark before heading off for servicing. ‪@southwalestrainspotting5090‬ and I catch the RHTT through with on hire DB Class 66s to Colas and we then take the opportunity to explore the site of the former S&D Bath Green Park station and have a wander rounder the Christmas Markets before heading back to see the Statesman returning to Ulverston. After a queue to get back onto the platforms at Bath, we head down to Bristol Temple Meads where 34028 was in Platform 15 being prepared for departure and we return to Bath Spa to catch the locomotive steaming back in picking passengers up to return to London, with an atmospheric after dark departure before the final shot at Chippenham shows ‘Eddystone’ going like the clappers absolutely belting as it hurtles past the station bringing to an end a brilliant few days of railway action! | 29.11.2025 I hope you enjoy this video and thank you for watching!
