Originally aired on Zoom, Thursday, May 14th. We invite you to pour a cocktail and join us on Zoom for a lecture with artist Robert Gregson on Anni and Josef Albers, two members of the Bauhaus art movement who would go on to become leading pioneers of 20th-century modernism. During his talk Gregson will give insight into these artists’ influence on the art world at large, and share his own personal recollection of his interactions with the couple. The Albers’s would formulate their philosophy for art and life around Bauhaus: living simply, shedding excess, and making every decision a purposeful aesthetic choice. Robert Gregson received his MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago. He has worked at the renowned Sidney Jani Gallery in New York, installing exhibits by Josef Albers, Claes Oldenburg, Ellsworth Kelly, Marisol, and others. His own work has been exhibited in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. as well as the Northeast. In 2014, the NBMAA presented his interactive works in Space to Maneuver. — Please visit us at https://nbmaa.org/ For more information about this exhibition, please visit us at https://nbmaa.org/exhibitions/anni-al...
