Abstract: Despite established imaging technologies such as conventional endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging, the assessment of bile duct strictures and pancreatobiliary tumors remains crucial. In the authors' department, intraductal ultrasound (IDUS) applying high-frequency EUS miniprobes is an integral part of the diagnostic program in diseases of the pancreatobiliary tract. In the following, the key points of IDUS are presented, explaining the handling of the EUS miniprobes and presenting several interesting cases to see the advantages of this methodology.
